I'm prepping for case interviews happening in 1 month and am finding it challenging to memorize and integrate industry knowledge and other key insights for the long term—on top of everything else we need to learn for casing. We have to learn so much...😬

Any strategies for memory retention? I've never worked in corporate and lack latent knowledge about business elements, so I'm intimidated by the learning curve.

Explain it to someone else, will help you retain. Sometimes you think you know it in your head but can test yourself by saying it out loud.

I don’t think you need to memorize anything. The main thing to practice is mental math and reading and interpreting information. I have never expected anyone to know specific information but just apply strong logic, judgement and have a good structure.

I have struggled with memorization too, in a ton of different areas. I’ll understand it at the time, but for it to actually stick and me to bring it out again, different story. Some things I have done after doing some research is mnemonics, either making up acronyms, breaking down large things into much smaller, and sometimes associated items with something else entirely.

My professional life at the moment is far from ideal. I’ve been on quarantine (long story, but a good one) for the last seven years. Royalties from my books don’t pay the bills. My entrepreneurial pursuits remain hampered. For the interim, I’ve been looking for a remote opportunity where I can leverage my skills in marketing, sales, social media, and elsewhere for a decent sum. I have a social media presence which, in recent years, reached millions. There has to be something exciting I can do.

My psychiatrist today revealed to me that I may have ADHD, still a hypothesis that he is still exploring but from my personal experiences and discussions with therapist, it seems likely.

One example of personal experience is my ongoing prep for case studies as I'm interviewing with a number of firms. I do struggle to keep focus and generally take a bit longer to finish them, specifically the structuring of the case. Does anybody else feel the same way and any recommendations to overcome this?

I have not been diagnosed with ADHD. I definitely fit some of the characteristics that go unnoticed in females. The good news is if i do have ADHD, it makes me quite good at my job as I’m very flexible and can provide positive energy to my patients. Anyway, my boss has told me I have ADHD multiple times. It seems rude when she says it, and she follows it up with “I say that because I love you” which i feel is so unprofessional all around. Anyone have guidance on how to handle this?

I recently got diagnosed with ADHD. I'm 31 and found this only because b school and post mba consulting job was/is much more challenging than anything I did before. What I'm confused about is that even as a teenager I could read entire books overnight. But the last two years of high school I started selectively zoning out and the problem has become worse since. I just realised it now. My doctor has suggested treating depression (I was also unaware of this) with Wellbutrin first (contd)
