I’m probably just fried from a long week of work but can someone help me understand how to determine how much extra mortgage a certain dollar amount per month equates to?

I can either live on water or live on dry lot and rent a dock slip. Dockage is $400 a month. i’d want to know how much mortgage that $400 would be worth at a given interest rate. What’s the math on that?

basically looking for a formula i can plug my “extra dollar amount” and interest rate in to result the ‘extra’ loan amount that would result

Go to Zillow or Redfin, find a similar property in the area and do their monthly cost estimator, adjusting for your specific situation

There are too many variables at play at a local level for us to assist in any meaningful way. The above method will give you immediate feedback on your situation

it answers the question for me. what i wanted to compare is the price of a house on a dry lot + the cost of renting a dock slip vs the price of a house on the water.

the $400 a month id spend on renting a dock slip is approx worth 65k in additional mortgage at 6% interest.

houses on the water are more expensive than on dry lots by substantially more than 65k. if you understand the back of the napkin math im doing here, you see why i wanted to approximate the value

Present value of an annuity? You have payment, rate, and term. Just throw it in excel.

I was told on the phone when dialing my complex’s after hours number (which is managed by a 3rd party company) that my complex’s policy would let me in for a cost of $100 (as it was after hours). After I was let in, property manager informed me the charge was $200. Is there anything I can do here? This is in Minnesota. Help appreciated!!
