Hello, I have an offer from Publicis Sapient for their product management internship program. Wondering if anyone has any insight into the program (exits, etc) and how the return offer looks like in terms of salary. I still also hold an interest in data science so might go with another offer but I’m not sure if it is a wise choice to let go of a PM offer while I have it.

Although I understand what you mean, different professions have certain jargon that they like to use. The intern my just be confirming what you mean. Shouldn’t be a big deal just tell them to change the password.
And what do you mean by hot coffee cup scenario?
3rd degree burns in 3 seconds vs everyone else in the industry of 18 seconds. There were 900 other cases and McDonald’s response was basically fk ‘em. The act was egregious, the response was egregious… and she asked for them to cover her medical bills- the courts decided on that $64m number (3-days revenue of coffee- later settled for an undisclosed amount).
This was a case study in school- clearly it really stuck with me lol
I have never in my life heard the phrase “rotate that password”. Couldn’t you just say change your password? In any case, definitely sounds like the intern just wasn’t familiar with your jargon - teach them. That’s what internships are for 😉
It’s an odd phrase because it’s not like “rotating the tires on your car” or “players on a field”. In reality we’re creating brand-new passwords or crypto keys each time. But it’s very common to hear this is devops and security teams.
It’s because changing password makes sense. Rotating password is less used/ less common. It’s also an intern. Give them the benefit of the doubt
You are right, engineer should have said "change the password" instead. I thought the don't share password on a public space was the take-away.
Oh haha- you gave us too much info and we seized on what we could complain about 😂
A bit harsh. I'm an architect and have managed teams as a VPE. But I'm still learning through the people around me. As we move up the chain, the more we find out how much we don't know and only through the guidance of those before us will we improve.
How much is that intern getting paid

Tell them to implement rot13 and see if they actually do it.
I don't get why one would use "rotate" instead of "change". It has as many letters and more syllables.
If someone asked me to rotate the password, I would definitely turn it upside down , like 333 would be EEE... And I would say i rotated it and it still didn't work 😂😂
While I understand what the engineer meant, the use of the word rotate implies that at some point you're going to come back and reuse that password in the future, once your predefined password list has been exhausted. Most certainly one should not reuse a password that has been shared online. That password should be permanently removed from rotation.
Idk, rotate is slang, can’t blame the guy/gal asking for clarification.
🤣🤣🤣
Also could the intern just be asking how to change the password?
