Interviewing at an ad agency, are khaki color pants and a blazer over dress shirt overkill?

^I don’t always go to interviews, but when I do, I wear denim.

Yes. I’d be more relaxed. See if you can scope out their office in advance but (black) jeans & a (denim) shirt would probably be more appropriate...

For an ad agency? Totally. The designers in my old firm wore literally nothing else than double denim (though maybe London has a different style than the US...)

Drop the blazer and you’ll be fine

If in NYC, what you suggest is appropriate. California? Jeans should be fine

Dark wash jeans, tshirt (fashionable t) and a grey blazer.

Thanks all. Interviewing in a data science group so not a designer. Thinking khakis, dress shirt and sweater now

Stop it with the khakis man. Wear dark wash jeans and a blazer. Classy and casual

I am thinking about applying at Amazon or other FAANG companies. Currently working at one of the largest CPG organizations. I am at mid 30 and kind of bored in CPG. The culture is very laid back. Never worked in tech but at this point kind of inclined towards some type of non-tech program manager role in Amazon. Did anyone moved from CPG to tech, specifically at Amazon?

Do you guys ever just tell recruiters that the process is taking too long and withdraw your application? This guy made contact with me 2 weeks ago, said he’d get an interview set up with internal HR, then ghosted me, then appeared out of nowhere and told me I had a call with internal HR the next. There’s 4 more steps after this. It’s just too much. I know that’s a normal timeline, but the point is it just takes too long now.

How reliable is the Gartner Career site where you can see the status of an application? 2 weeks after an interview, and I haven’t heard anything but the status still says In Process.

Been considering getting out of Big4 consulting for a while now. Recently started interviewing and got an offer out of the blue. Rank is somewhat similar, but pay is pretty much same as now, except for one time RSU quantity that vests over 3 years. The new role fits most boxes, but I'm on the fence about whether to jump just yet. Looking to crowdsource my decision based on inputs from others who've jumped recently v/s those who have stayed put temporarily. Penny for your thoughts 🥺 Contd below

I'm having the last loop interviews with Amazon for an analyst position, but I'm realizing that it might not be the right place for me, I'm currently working at hpe and have a good balance, 11+ YOE, I'm not sure if it's really worth the effort. Can someone tell me about what level sales ops analyst job might be? I looked for range salaries and it looks like it is 55k for Germany, so not really much of what I'm earning now. I read bad comments about the culture and the workload balance.

What do people say in interviews when they switch from to the same role from their current company to a new company? Mainly doing it for increase in comp but always get stuck when recruiters ask “why do you want to make the switch?” Do I be honest?

Hi 🐠 can you say when the performance year starts and ends and when bonuses are paid? Have an interview coming up. Manager level.

HR / Recruiters specifically - can you guys just please try to be honest with candidates and say its going to be a while before they hear back!! I dont know whats going on but interviewing with several major companies and having to chase down recruiters all day after they say they will follow/up on this or that day and then I dont hear from them for 3-4 days. I am trying to time my interviews/potential offers but they keep getting promises of follow-up on next steps and not hearing back

Hi All! Cross-posting this to the ATL bowl, but I have a fabulous nanny in the Atlanta area that I will be sad to let go of in another few months. I have a vested interest in seeing her land an amazing family that will take care of her as well as she will take care of their children. She is young, vibrant, and creative - she shows tremendous initiative (she instituted her own lesson plans with our child at 1). She is very conscientious, respectful, and helpful to a fault. There’s been a lot of conflicting info on FDD comp across the big 4/ mid tier. Thought it would be helpful for a cross firm comp thread. Provide the following info: (1) Office or Region / COL, (2) Rank and YOE , (3) Internal vs External hire (if within past 3 years), (4) Rating (Tier 1, 2, 3), (5) Salary (Current, % increase - year end vs mid year), (6) Bonus %, (7) TTM One time bonuses $ (not including project bonuses). A&M, feel free to not participate, no need to add salt to our wounds.

I’ve been waiting for security clearance since July and just found out I’m pregnant after trying for a year. I’m hoping clearance will be granted in early spring 2021 and I can start work soon after. Thankfully taking unpaid time off isn’t a big issue (won’t be eligible for FMLA or parental leave), but worried about timing and telling HR & my supervisor. I’m planning to tell them once I start; know timing isn’t ideal and stressed about starting off on the wrong foot. Any advice?
