Hi All, My Junior has decided to put paper, as she wanted to pursue Cdac course from Sept-22. She just informed that she signed a bond of 2 years and currently she has completed 1.7 years in HCL. What should she do now? Results is on 10-aug and she decided to put paper on that day itself (Earlier she told the same to Sr. manager) Kindly suggest if any action would be taken by HCL OR No experience letter would be shared with her. Dude. Ask for $200! Cost of living is going to kick your ASS from Dallas. Don’t forget state income tax now, too. Seriously Dallas $100K vs $200K SF is only a slight bump in overall disposable income (post tax, rent, car, etc.)
when they ask for your asking, say 155k!
Comp at Google is about 60% base, 15% bonus, 25% stock. Not sure what level they’re bringing you in at, but a L3 PgM should be close to 170k TC. 4 = $200k
135 base, maybe. Realistically, 150-160 base + bonus + stock (100k plus). Overall about 200k (with 25% stock vesting per year).
The rule for Silicon Valley is simple- your base pay covers your daily lifestyle (40%tax, 40%rent+car, 20% food/utils).
Your savings/wealth building happens from stocks.
That is more than reasonable. Especially if you live in SF!
$135k seems extremely low for a program manager in Mountain View. I wouldn’t move there for that. Set your standards higher.
135 is insanely low. If you aren’t going to do the research, let them lead with the number.
I’d be moving to Mountain View for this position, so a significant cost of living increase
Agree with the comments ask for at least 175. Also just know your benefits will be crazy better. They probably no longer ask for current salary. With the CA and NY laws many big companies like google no longer do. So go for what you think you are worth!
Also cost of living change is going to be awful. I say this as someone who lived in SF for 6 years.
Hey @D1, how long did your process last ? I’m currently interviewing for a program manager position as well, but the process has become really slow all of a sudden. Wondering if this is how it usually is.
Are you staying in Dallas?
Thanks, G1. How do they decide between L3 and L4? Years of experience? They haven’t told me my level yet
How do they determine L3 and L4 for a PgM role? Interviewing for PgM role as well
