For example if I move from low cost of living area to high cost of living area does the company re-evaluate the base salary within USA? Or do they come back and mention its your family requirement since your partner is located and you are moving ?Suggestions or experiences any !

Ouch. Brutal
In this economy, 100k to 110k. If it's the role I think you are applying for :p
Heard from someone that salaries in Calgary could be around CAD150k so asking
$150K for Manager seems on the high side - Senior Managers are $150-175K CAD.
BCG in Canada is $210K cad base for managers. But big 4 are cheap as hell in Canada
It's not "cheap", it's the market. Salaries consistently around the world are no where near what US salaries are.
Thank you all. Should I then quote 120 or 100?
I thought that you could negotiate more in Calgary but I could be totally wrong here
Dang that is rough. 150 would be low for that role in US
Always start high and see where they go. What did the role say as base online
@DD Calgary salaries are typically higher than Toronto, for companies that don't equalize pay
@SC1, in Canada we bill at similar rates to the US. Which is why they equalize our salaries for the conversion. Only the big 4 doesn't - essentially every other consulting firm does.
BCG I'm not talking just consulting firms, I am talking salaries in general are lower in most places compared to the us
Yeah, but we're in the consulting industry - so it doesn't change the fact that the big 4 are cheap compared to their competitors
Calgary based, 150k is high, unless you have a good industry salary to begin with, but a first year manager will probably be between 95-120k depending on the person
Also BCG1 is right, we pay less than US but higher than most cities in Canada
Looks like I need to interview with BCG Canada instead for the role of a Salesforce PL 😊
$150 is doable if you have enough experience. Calgary has the highest salaries in the country... not many jobs, but salaries in consulting are still quite high. You know what Karrass says...
...in life you don't get what you deserve, you get what you negotiate.
PWC1 : Thanks for the confirmation. How much is enough in terms of work experience? I have 9 yrs with MBA
