Staff for sure. Just sit there lookin confused all day and get paid/decent ratings
I liked the part where I put in my resignation. Regardless of rank...:)
Of course senior. People start to give you more meaningful work
Staff ...can afford to mess up everything without worrying about the consequences
Senior for sure. Actually getting to face clients and having more autonomy
Senior because I at least semi know what I’m doing now. Being a staff and having no clue for 6+ months and struggling through stuff every day was really hard for me
Senior. Sure, it’s more stressful, but it’s more interesting and you get to client-face more.
3rd year senior in Audit was the best. First year as a senior sucks but the first year as a manager was worse since I had no senior managers on my jobs.
3rd year senior I was in the zone. Knew my clients and knew what I needed to do
Staff. I barely had to talk to clients
Just made Senior a few months ago so not sure yet but these responses give me hope lol
Protiviti 1, it depends on the Senior/Team/Client. I like giving my staff as much autonomy as possible, so I include them to all client meetings, and if they find something in the minutia of ticking and tying, I let them contact the client directly to get it resolved (after I review to make sure it legit needs to go back to the client).. I think this makes for better prepared future seniors.
Senior. Way more control over your schedule, more confidence in your work, and ability to grow.
Staff easily. I just had to complete my work on time and woh good quality to get a good review
S2 and above
Staff!! Love the ticking and tying
Neither
Senior
Seeing all these comments from Big 4 about not having client facing or autonomous responsibilities as a staff further cements my happiness that I didnt take that path.
That being said I very much miss being staff bc I had the above opportunities but took less of the blame when things didnt go 100% as planned.
Staff for sure. Lest responsibility, everything is new so learning was interesting compared to just rolling files every year and recycling workpapers and memos to other clients.
