Is 12 weeks of parental leave the norm in pharma? That sounds ridiculous! Just talked to an HR at a large pharma and was shocked to hear!

Does anyone here in a health system have insurance that covers fertility assistance or get paid parental leave? Really like my position at my hospital but as we start to plan a family - I'm nervous about the cost. Just looking around regionally - it looks like most health systems don't cover this.

Is there a policy preventing me from putting in my two weeks notice December 20th (Jan 3rd last day)? That would look like a week and a day of firm paid holiday and then 3days of PTO the second week.

Starting a new job next month, and considering taking two days off for kids’ spring break next month. Not sure whether it’s appropriate to request time off for a new job (I would’ve preferred not to take any time off for first three months). I may just be able to just ask for a single Friday off (so 1 day rather than 2 days).

Any thoughts on whether I should proceed with the request? I just came from big law and want to make sure I’m not making a bad impression on my colleagues.

You’re either not valuable to your company and/or your job isnt that important if you’re able to take PTO and not at least send some e-mails.

Recent exp hire in consulting and would love some input. Do you get the impression many people do them? If so, soft drugs (ex - weed)? Hard drugs? Non-prescribed study drugs? Frequency? At work-sponsored social functions? To an extent that it’s noticeable/problematic?

Please help! I’m a CRC who manages Investigator- led clinical research projects and I want to transition to a PM role in industry (I would slightly prefer not a PM role in clinical trials since I don’t have clinical trial experience.) I’ve applied to PM roles at many biotech companies (e.g. Charles River, ICON, Paraxel) but only got 1 interview which didn’t work out. Which companies should I look to for an entry level PM role? Any good startups to consider? Anyone have any insight or advice?

Has Pfizer done away with Assoc. Director roles in favor of Sr. Manager roles?

Just got offered a job at a small biotech in London (UK). ~£45k plus bonus but only 1YR FTC and no equity.

What kind of roles do you guys recommend for a pharmacist trying to pivot into pharma? Where can you go to see all the different types of roles available? I graduated with my PharmD in 2019 and I did a managed care residency and am now at a healthcare startup so my background is primarily on the health plan/digital health side

I accepted a $115K base salary, 13% bonus, 10k sign on bonus (scientist supervisor) job and two weeks later, got a $135K base, 17% bonus, and 15K sign on bonus (Senior scientist role) offer from another company. Should I accept the new offer ? How do I tell the previous company about this? Also, I’ve already negotiated with the first company and the $115K base is the negotiated salary. I really do not prefer one company over the other. They’re both great! I’m very confused here. TIA🙏
