Is a product and delivery analyst at McKinsey Solution considered a consulting position or are they thought of as second class citizens?

I’m an early career as a Project Manager (4 yoe). Just got eliminated from my role as an Associate Project Manager. I’m actively looking for work but thinking of spending $ and time to get certification as a PM. Is it worth it? If so, which certificate should I put my money on? I was looking at eCornell PM. I think I want to get a PMP as well.
