Advice needed on handing in notice, I recently signed an offer letter and understand the screening process takes 4-6 weeks. I have a month's notice period and have agreed a preliminary start date in Feb.

I was planning on not handing my notice in until the checks had been completed so its all secured (not that I think I will fail any checks), but apparently I need a reference from my current employer not previous ones. Can't really do this without handing in notice can I?

Fishes - anyone else missing travel big time? I live very close to YYZ (by choice give pre-COVID world) and now watching the few lingering metal birds fly by make me a bit nostalgic already. My flights were my me time, and hotels were a second home.

On-board my first flight in 6 months watching a man 2 rows down gradually fill with rage as our flight reaches 45 minutes of delay. I never realized how much i missed this. I finally feel home again.

Is there any benefit to early hotel checkins on the app? Hotels always email me a day early to check in,but I’ve never seen any reason to do so.

Currently, in accenture. I have had very bad billable hours and not much achievement this fiscal year. I am worried of getting fired, so i applied for another job. Got offered may be 5% above my current pay with 5k bonus, but in lower level at Deloitte. I think working lower level will give me more opportunities to learn as i think i have lot to learn. I made decision based on my gut and accepted the offer. I have not talked to anyone on accenture side yet. What you think?

I’ve been working at Deloitte (federal) for 4 months now at the analyst level doing the typical analyst work, like building decks. The original company I wanted to work for had to rescind my offer back in March due to COVID. They’re hiring again and want me to join. It’s a boutique consulting firm, I’ll be apart of the cyber risk team. Which was what I originally wanted to do.
