You are referring to the article’s headline, which yes is the same as David’s Coke ad. The KFC however has nothing to do with the Coke ad. This ad talks about the crunchiness of the chicken, you know, one of the main attributes of it.
Advertising is about unique execution, not original ideas. That’s good because none of us have original ideas. Run a current deck by an OG and they’ll remember every one of your ideas as being done already, just with different or forgotten executions.
