I’m 100% committed to leaving education. I’m going to start actively pursuing other avenues the second we’re out for summer.
Good luck! I just landed a job in higher education.
I’m so EXCITED to start something new!
Yes definitely- but no idea what yet. I just know I want to be as far away from education as possible for a little bit and try to recalibrate.
I want to leave education but not entirely sure what. Just seeking ideas at the moment but after the lack of appreciation all week and all year, there has to be better out there and at how low we are paid, compared to districts right next to us, it isn’t worth it.
Yeah. I don’t plan on staying here forever - I mostly did it out of necessity. I do like teaching, but the pay isn’t great long-term, and the economy’s taken too much of a hit for me to have a lower paying job like this forever.
I don’t think I can afford a switch this summer, but I’d probably like to in the future.
I've been thinking about making a career change for awhile now, I don't think it will happen this summer but I'm hoping it will happen sometime in the next few years. I just want to take my time on the switch so that I can find a career that I'm really passionate about and won't want to leave anytime soon.
Nope, no big changes in the cards for me. At least for the near future. I'm only 2 years into my career and I haven't burned out just yet so I'm still happy to stay teaching for the moment.
yep, i will be starting as a youth intervention specialist!!
in a runaway / cps placed youth home center.
I'm not planning on it but I'm always open to any and every opportunity that comes my way. I love teaching but the moment I stop getting joy from it I'll be more than happy to move on, that's the responsible thing to do.
Yes! 🙌🏻
I want to but I can't seem to make it happen.
I’d like to… maybe something in tech… I teach now but that’s getting to be too much… would LOVE a work from home that gives me flexibility with my son.
I'm open to it! I didn't sign my contract at my current school and I've been applying to districts and other careers just because I'm planning to start a family and I am not making enough for how overworked I am at the private school. The uncertainty is terrifying!
Private school pay is very low (I agree) BUT, after switching from private to public myself, I found private had much more collaboration and camaraderie.
(Worked in private 5 years & public for 10) .. I am headed back to private.
They are more compassionate and understanding.
Good luck.
