Just signed the outside employment form in KPMG onboarding system. I actually wanted to start dabbling in creative writing as a potentially monetizable hobby, but I'm guessing this may pose issues.
Definitely interested in the "exception from this policy may be requested if provision of non-professional services doesn't interfere with one's duties of causes conflict of interest" clause, though. Has anyone been able to get one of those before?

It’s fun to be around a team if you get a good 1 for sure. Client? No so much; or rarely. Definitely helps with training and camaraderie as well. Once you get the hang of it, it’s way more satisfying to work from home. But you can’t put a price on working with a good team you’re close to.
Agreed it’s fun as a staff/early senior for sure. Senior in charge/manager is less fun since it’s more delegation/pm than peer work.
“Audit” and “fun” don’t belong in the same sentence.
Yeah audit work is pretty boring. It was the perks of being in the office (bonding with teammates, coffee runs, happy hours, etc) that made Big 4 worth being in.

Depends on what your definition of fun is. I feel like most people don’t enjoy it or it doesn’t get anymore interesting in person. Not like the work changes. You should be able to learn more in person. Just driving to client site everyday isn’t fun if you spend two hours on the road. I think a good team can help you tolerate it more. A lot of the time your good friends ending up being on your engagements teams because you see them 10+ hours a day. If you get a bad team or people who you don’t vibe with, it’s game over.

D1- work can be difficult at times but also fun. Nothing in GAAS against actually being friends with your coworkers and talking to them about things other than work
