Is it fair that someone with a child can come in late or leave early as an accommodation. But I can't get the same accommodation to come in 10-15min late due to my lack of dopamine in the mornings. Something I physically and mentally can not help in an appropriate amount of time.

Generally speaking — if people at your work can show up late within a certain window without consequence, it should apply to everyone. Unfortunately some managers do not agree. Most things around childcare are due to uncontrollable schedules (drop off and pick up times set by the schools), but you control when you wake up — so they will see that as a differentiating factor.

If you can get an official recommendation from your doctor, you might have a better chance at getting an accommodation.

Dry skin on your hands after taking stimulants for a while? Anyone get this? Or maybe because of washing hands after going toilet so many times because of drinking loads of water lol

So today was my first day on a stimulant (diagnosed as an adult), and everyone says its suppose to feel like *boom* magic, or normal (?) , I guess. Knowing that is figurative, what should I actually be expecting? I feel mostly the same, I think, though I came in and actually did started my work today. But I mean, somedays I do that...I just don't want to psyche myself out if I'm expecting too much. Or pscyhe myself in if I actually might not be experiencing what I should.

Been thinking about the other post about ADHD jobs. Any other job hoppers here or people with non linear careers? Or maybe you got a specific degree and are now doing something completely different? This has been a decade-long struggle for me.

Anyone a manager? I’m recently diagnosed (26F) and I can’t help but beat myself up everytime I fall short of my to do list. Makes me feel like a huge disservice to my team. I’ve been trying vitamin D and working out, but it makes my “highs” and “low” SO extreme. The simplest things are so complex in my mind.

If anyone feels similar, how do you manage these feelings? I’m personally considering switching to an individual contributor role, but can’t help but feel like a disappointment if I do.
