The amount of interviews involved to get hired is an excellent indicator of how much you'll enjoy working there.
Wow! 10 stages is a lot and it is crazy to me that they can tell people that with a straight face. I can really appreciate that they want to get the right people in there, but we need some work on streamlining the process! Can totally understand being hesitant about going through it because that is a lot!
10 is roughly what it is at Amazon and Google
Yeah, but these places are not Amazon or Google.
Honestly makes me regret going into this field a bit. My traditional engineering friends (mechanical, electrical, etc) have like 1-3 interviews max. Tech industry has just blown up so much that companies need 10 interviews to filter out people.
No they don’t. It’s a classic case of trying to create certainty when it’s not remotely possible. It’s bad management, which will eventually catch up to these companies.
I met with 11 people at my last interview process.
I interviewed with a database company that sounds like "Mango" and went through 7 rounds of interviews including a tech screen, a panel demo/presentation, and a 3rd party logic assessment test just to be ghosted at the last and final stage - which consists of another full blown solution architecture product demo/presentation.
And this was not the only company with this type of process. I've self-selected out of multiple roles due to this insanity.
Agreed that the process is getting really ridiculous.
