Short answer yes, long answer depends on the rest of your background and application
If you can get top GMAT scores, they can augment your GPA and potentially even replace it. Can you pay your way? Because you’re definitely not getting any scholarship
Definitely. You gotta sell your story and your passion to why you want to pursue a mba that doesn’t seem selfish. Go into the story why you didn’t take college seriously and what you learned and what you’d do differently in the MBA program. Use your essays and interview to do this. Also do fairly well on the GMAT/GRE. I got into a T-30 school doing this. Not sure what you mean by top tier as in T-15 or T-50 but i’m sure the method I used could work for you as well.
Helps if you're a URM
Underrepresented minority
Depends on your undergrad major, I got into Couple of top tiers with applied math major and 2.9 gpa. Math average gpa for the nation is 2.7. As long as you are above average in your major and have a very good GMAT score you will be okay.
And who did your daddy pay off?
If you from wealthy background yes. Top 20 schools no admit is poor. If you a legacy you a shoo in.
Yes it is possible. I would suggest trying to get your GPA up if I were you but yes, it is def possible to do with that GPA.
Yeah, but only if you have some kind of really solid experience to back it up. GMAT will help ofc
Just curious why a mba?
U gotta be a really really good CSR and a top notch GMAT/GRE
Yes, you definitely can. But of course the rest depends on how you tell your story.
Possible with 3.0. Must have great essays, GMAT, and work experience
You not getting into top 20 with a low GPA unless you are from a wealthy family or legacy. Even underrepresented minorities have to have a great GPA (but can get away with slightly lower gmat score).
Yes. The MBA acceptance rate is much higher than that for undergrad. I got a full ride with a 2.9 GPA but I also got 760 for GMAT, the CFA charter and really good references. I also explained why I underperformed in undergrad and how I managed to bounce back.
Curious which school?
Harvard MBA will take people with interesting, but successful, stories: e.g., someone who started a business and sold it.
