The only thing you would gain in telling them that is feeling better for 30 seconds about your dig. In the meantime, it wills be a red flag for the person interviewing you as they would draw any number of conclusions (e.g., you’re a complainer, difficult to manage, self-righteous, backstabber, etc.) from your comment, none of them good.
It really depends on the director. If he is looking for root cause, then your thoughts would be helpful. I always want my employees to be honest as otherwise I can not direct change.
