Gave interview in TCS, it went pretty well. At the end, the tech interviewer asked my expected ctc. After mentioning as 27lpa, he asked if can be negotiated, told yes.
After that didn't get any feedback, its been around 5days.
Is 27lpa too much fr tcs? 🤔

For real though.
I think advertising creative is one of the final jobs where you can just be a pirate.
I would invest in some sort of MBA and become a strategy person or a hybrid though.
Unless you’re looking to change fields, I don’t think it’s necessary. Beyond that, the only time I’ve heard of a CD getting their masters in business was because they were working toward CCO. Which, I truthfully don’t even know if that’s an actual requirement.
I’m not even sure you’d have to finish high school if you had the spark.
I have an MA but I got it before I got a job. It helped me land a job only because it was a weird degree.
Nope. Unless you’re aiming for Finance, (CPA, MBA), Account leadership, (sometimes you’ll see an MBA), or Biz Affairs, (accounting, MBA, or JD), as a rule of thumb a master’s won’t make a significant difference. I have one, that’s my 2 cents.

Not needed for Business Affairs either. Can have a lucrative career with just a Bachelors. Most learn everything they know on the job. Sure, some have MBAs or JDs but a bit rare.
You barely need a High School degree
Many job listings do include a bachelors degree as a requirement (especially for in-house roles, I’ve noticed). But perhaps not a strictly kept requirement.
No. I’ve tried to figure this out so many times. If you’re at the beginning of your career, VCU would be worth it I think. But after that, there isn’t a master’s degree that can help you if you plan to stay on the creative side.
It also doesn’t make a ton of sense to pay 200k for an MBA from a top masters program (assuming you can score high enough on the GMAT to get into one) unless you think that’s the only thing standing between you and a CMO role or something.
Nah. I didn’t even finish undergrad.
I went to VCU. For me, 100%. It gave me the time to properly develop my skill and craft as an art director. And then when graduation came, I had connections to dozens of recruiters. And the connections with classmates and recruiters will last the rest of my career.
Yes, I do no successful people that went to Circus or no portfolio school, but I didn’t want to “risk” my success. VCU is exactly what I paid for an more. Exactly what I hoped for and more. A highly relevant education and the connects after.
If you ever want to go client side then the answer is yes.
“I do no successful people” 🤣
Thinking about this practically - what would getting a masters in creative actually entale? Making good ads - do that at work at get paid.
Talking about what ads suck and why - start a new thread here, post on LinkedIn, rant at the bar (once that becomes a thing again)
Listening to experts - podcasts, interviews, watch Cannes judging
Any place that would require a piece of paper saying that you've done all that is not a place you'll want to work.
