My manager has always been one to micromanage. For the past two years I've been experiencing bad anxiety attacks brought on by the COVID pandemic, however with the recent developments in Ukraine and Russia, my anxiety has been through the roof. Logistics is hard enough, but now it's even worse, because not only am I struggling with my manager and the shortages/delays of merch, but now I'm also dealing with my mental health. For anyone who travels a lot for work, what advice would you have?
Yeah... A long time ago, I worked for a marketing agency in which our boss wanted results immediately. Thing is he had many deadlines for projects that he just never shared, so we would get assigned something and then a couple days later he would be screaming at us asking why the project is not done if there is a due date that we weren't informed about. I was there for about a year before realizing it was not aligning with my interests.
Well, yeah, I would talk to them and ask them why exactly they think doing a shoddy job quickly is better than doing a good job with the time it requires. He probably just has it in his mind that it's better like that.
What part of logistics are you involved with? My company once hired a guy who was part of the buying team and he would royally mess up always because he didn't care enough to look carefully through all the details when making a purchase. He always ended up buying parts that didn't really work for our business,so we had to let him go.
I’ve found that going to them with cost and efficiency data is helpful when convincing them to change. They may finish the initial task quickly but if rework needs to be done that’ll end up costing more in time and money.
I suppose it's hard to argue against hard data, I'll see if I can find anything useful thank you!
