You get to make over 100k
There have been a lot of studies that leaving as a second year senior gives you the most opportunities because manager at an accounting firm doesn’t translate as well into industry, your technical will be developed enough and you’re still early enough in your career to get plugged into learning/diverse experiences in industry
My personal opinion is that the staying until manager is just part of the kool aid.
I know people who left as seniors and make over 100k
Ur on the other side of the fence now. You are now in management as opposed to being a cog
I stayed until manager and am glad I did. Much better exit ops for me and I learned so much more in that time with the different exposure you get. It’s a general rule of thumb that I believe to be true but there are always exceptions
Promotions might be slower in industry
Ya I think another difference is when ur a manager, ppl actually listen to what you find in research and guidance while as a senior everyone is skeptical of it and may not even listen to what u have to say
