I don’t even have kids but I know how painfully annoying I was as a teen. Do it and save your sanity 😂
You are my people. I’m bookmarking this for the future.

Lmaooo yes
Why bring them at all? Leave them at a kennel and go vacation. Only behaved children vacation
There’s a fantastic business idea 🙌🏻
Going on a family trip and paying more to sit away from your spouse and kids is mental. You people have problems
I’d pay the $150 for the upgrade, because I’d need the comped booze to get me through life with teenagers and a husband that also seems to be a teenager 🙈

Enjoy those 3 hours! Be zen!
Being teenagers, I would book them on a different flight

I think they meant your spouse too. I am in support of this idea as well
If my teenagers were that bad to me I wouldn’t be paying to take them on a vacation. They can stay home while I go.
In hindsight I am regretting this decision. I thought the trip might ameliorate the behavior, and maybe a weekend away will do us all good, but in the end you are probably right.
1000000% do it
So, update. Apparently I can’t pay to change my seat without paying to change all their seats. My only option is moving one row up to the last free open seat. And surely I’ll get kicked. So I’m stuck with them. 🤣
There had better be Stroopwafels on this flight that’s all I have to say!!
Pro
They can sit together across the aisle.
If someone tweets about this family flying with terrible kids and the parents did nothing, let me know, ok? I’m not on twitter🤣

Couldn’t you just select a seat away from them at check in for free?
Yeah but that risks a premium seat may not be available day of. I lost my status during covid.
Seems like there is a bigger issue here. However, when we're on vacation(and only then) my kids tend to not bicker and they're extra nice to us. Which is why we try to go on Vaca as much as possible. Good luck!
Pro
There certainly is. I joke about the seating but I’m not naive to the complexities here. You’re probably right about vacation and we are terrible at taking enough of them. Good advice.
Tweens are brutal. I think mine is slowly sending me to an early grave.

Solidarity. 👊🏻
Here’s to making it through the holiday break.
Ok yes regrettably these kids are going on this trip. The decision has been made and it is likely bad. But am I a petty beotch for ditching them or is it self preservation at its finest?
Self preservation at its finest! Often the kids are worse when the parents are around anyway - save yourself the stress. Let the other parent sit by them since they don’t seem to need it to stop.

Serious Q as I’m deciding now, do you regret having kids?
No, I don’t. There are so many rewarding moments. But this phase is tough. I have a great counselor and lots of wonderful parent friends who tell us this is normal and it will end and they will return to nice people again.
Even through all this, my oldest still tells me everything that goes on. I trust them a great deal. There are lots of bright spots. It’s just a hard year.
Do it.
Yes; do it
I think instead of an upgrade, I'll change my seat somewhere far away. 😅 So you don't have to pay.
