It's crazy to me that so many layoffs are happening when there's also a healthcare worker shortage in so many areas. Has anyone here been affected by similar layoffs?

Who was around in 2008/2009 at big 4? Specifically in advisory? How were those practices affected during the layoffs? Any insight to ease some of the worry/unknown would be greatly appreciated.
