Yes of course! This is a tough time for everyone, no matter how fortunate you are. We are all dealing with stress, anxiety and uncertainty long-term which can amplify existing or underlying issues. Or can just be the start of something. There is no precedent, and no one knows what this will ultimately do to our physical and mental well-being. I’m not a doctor or HR, but as a manager I can tell you that everyone is getting a little grace right now. I know you’re worried that this will undermine you, but just try to put it behind you and take it one day at a time. Worrying about it will only make it a bigger deal for you and your manager. And of course having already disclosed your health concerns to HR helps you for legal reasons. Please be secure in knowing that. Does your company offer mental health hotlines etc.? Take advantage of them if so, and please feel free to message me directly if you’d like to talk. I have, and do struggle with all of the above and can listen and relate. Best of luck, chin up!
OMG stop of course there’s hope for you! DM me whenever you would like, vent, cry, whatever. You’re not alone.
Honestly so many people are going through a lot. I share that not to diminish what you’re experiencing but to let you know you’re not alone and shouldn t feel ashamed. I called EAP to find a therapist and they are backlogged with requests. So if you lost it on a call, know you are not alone. It’s great you talked to your manager and HR. Try to not feel shame but instead liberated that it’s known.
