Hi all.
Has anyone in IBM been on bench for more than 4 months here?
I have been on bench for almost 4 months now & have been getting automated mails asking me to get assigned to a project by searching one by myself, else necessary action might be taken.
And are there any chances of being straightaway fired based on these automated mails?
I would genuinely need an advise from someone who is aware of this kind of situation.
Thanks in advance

I think your best bet he would be to become a certified diversity, professional, or certified diversity executive. Both of those certificates are relatively affordable, compared to going back to school. I also have taken the Cornell certificate, which is more expensive, but is pretty well regarded in the industry.
Especially in the DEI space your lack of a formal degree shouldn’t be prohibitive of to you advancing. I’m really sorry you’re facing barriers. Your résumé and experience should speak for itself.
I agree, I think certifications and courses can help you be more specialist and niche - it negates the need for a traditional degree to an extent. Maybe also consider doing more thought leadership/content creation on LinkedIn to bolster that?
That's awesome. I've been working from that angle. Gonna work on the certifications from here on.

Great question! I'm in a similar situation.
Curious about what certifications folks have found valuable?

Thank you!
It’s an old school tactic, but it still works….A career portfolio that provides clear examples of your work and success goes very very far. It brings your resume to life. It gives the reviewer something different to look at, something that has emotions and results connected to it. I remember the first time I created one for a job I REALLY wanted, the hiring manager and the hiring manager’s boss were extremely impressed.
I really appreciate that advice. Any suggestions on specific items to include?
