Hi all, recently in touch by Spotify recruiter for a Sec Engineer position for remote EU and was told that range was 60-80 out of base salary and equity. Had 2 years of security experience out of my 4 years. Was also told that there is no bonus scheme or no sign in bonus 😕 Not sure how I feel about this tbh.
What do you think?

Lol that sounds terrible.
In all seriousness, a few things could have occurred. I wasn’t there and don’t have context so take this with a grain of salt:
1. You could be in a work environment where speaking up/speaking out is not accepted (obviously 🚩)
2. You could have team members who don’t like making their needs known (likely 🚩)
3. You could have spoken up at a time that wasn’t appropriate - perhaps other super important things were on the agenda (e.g., about to lay off 10% of workforce) and people said that half in jest to move on. (probably not 🚩)
4. You are someone who tends to complain a lot/gives the impression that you expect others to bend to them, and people are sick of hearing it. (probably a 🚩, but mainly because no one has given you feedback yet)
I wasn’t there so I don’t know. What I will say is that I think your point/complaint is super valid, and the reaction we’re hearing sounds kinda shitty, but more context would be needed to evaluate.
As far as the actual problem - the early meetings - goes, it’s totally appropriate to ask whoever’s scheduling, or in a smaller group discussion, if you guys can start meetings no earlier than 7am PT or something. I’ve worked across coasts (and really across the globe) before, and something we always try to norm on is overlap and meeting hours. Very normal to constrain meetings to business hours in most time zones.
Oof managing across EU and West Coast is the worst. I had to do that one year (from SF), and often took calls at 7am. Very tough. Not as bad as 5am though!
Work at a totally remote company. This wouldn’t fly. Toxic workplace. Time for a new job
Which company is this? I would like to apply.

What time do you sign off for the day? I’d love to start at 5am to get done with work and enjoy the afternoon
Could get away 2 or 3pm. If it was 7am or even 6am starts it might be worth it
My resume would be updated and I would out the door in less than month if anyone scheduled 5am Intentionally. Due to poor “culture fit”
Easy, just decline and say you're not available. I do it all the time. No way I'm going to get up at 5 for a call.
…if the meeting’s AT 5 you’re getting up at 4:45 at the latest 😩
