Joined EY early this year as a S2. We have no staff on our team, so the past few months have been nothing but grunt work. I’m expected to take responsibility for the projects but I’m spending 75% of my time rotating PDFs etc.

I’m not growing, actually I feel like I’m going backwards in my career. Yet on paper I’m getting paid a great salary and am supposed to be looking at manager next year.

Do I stay and drive myself crazy until manager? Or do I have some self respect and go where I can grow?

I’m almost at 90K and I’m still doing tick marks. End of the day it’s a paycheck and I’m still in my mid 20s. Not really worried about the growing thing currently, especially with corona virus

Stay until corona dies down at least IMO

As a manager, I still do tons of associate work. It’s no so much about your level just how well your office is staffed. I feel we are always short staffed.

If you are consistently doing grunt work, are you able to leverage GDS? There are some great individuals on our GDS teams if you don’t have enough staff in your region.

Then vlookup and pivot.... real work 😳

I have three years of experience in agency recruiting and HR. I’m currently making 47k as an HR Coordinator. I’m starting to feel bitter that I took a pay cut to transition to HR from agency recruiting so I put myself open to recruiters on LinkedIn and got a Sr Recruiter contract offer with a company that I’m familiar with for $38/hour. I don’t love the company’s culture so I’m going to keep looking but would it be worth leveraging the offer with my current org? I’ve only been there for 7 months

Just had a compensation discussion with my manager. I work at a big fortune 50 company. I met expectations and got back my compensation review receiving a 3% merit increase.

My boss knows I’m disappointed, and I asked to setup a follow up convo. We talked about inflation being 7.5% and I’m losing purchase power.

Other details:
Started last Jan 2021
Switching to a new role in a few weeks (manager said to talk to my new manager, LOL)
But we only have compensation adjustments once per year

Hello,
I’m a junior data scientist and in my current job I mostly code using Pyspark (no machine learning) so I would like to work on a side project that could leverage my profile and data science/ML skills. What project would you advice me to work on ? (it can be a kaggle project, or a classic task that you do at your job, or a paper that you read).
I’m overwhelmed by the many suggestions online and would prefer to get a suggestion directly from professionals.
PS : I’m not a beginner.

Hello. I am a Sr. Systems (Management) Analyst (equivalent to a Sr. Software Engineer), promoted to this position in 2019, from a Software Engineer position. I am doing really well and I always get great annual performance feedback. I work for a health insurance giant, that has a headquarters in MN (😉), but I am based in IN, with 10YOE total. I'm wondering how much I should be making, and if it is high time to ask for a raise or look for other opportunities and jump ship.

I was promoted early this year from an assistant “hourly” role to a managerial “salary excempt” role, but my old job hasn’t been replaced and it’s been 5 months. It’s an unfair workload and assisting someone else takes up so much time that I can’t learn and develop in the managerial role. And I find myself constantly working overtime and not getting paid fairly, even with the pay raise I got when I was promoted. I want to send my employer an email saying they’re in violation of FLSA.
