Just had a positive performance review 2 weeks ago - got a (small) raise and extra week of vacation. My primary client just asked me off the business today. Going on paternity leave in 3 months. Odds that I’m about to get fired?

Odds that you’d have a lawsuit 💯

Agree with this. You aren’t getting fired. And if you do, lawyer up and sue.

Why does the client want you off? That may be the deciding factor

like

The good news is that your employer sees your performance and that you are doing well. Sometimes you can’t predict what the client is thinking or will do. I’ve been on both sides. Sometimes change is good for both parties. I hope that you get some reassurance internally about the change. But most importantly enjoy your paternity leave!

likesmart

Hard to tell. But if you’ve haven’t already filed the paternity leave, do it now. That will keep you protected for a bit.

If I had to guess, it sounds like the agency likes you and the client had some issue. So you just don’t want to not be paid for while agencies are worried about a possible recession. If nothing else, that gives you time to figure it all out.

I’ve been working for my State Farm agency as a team member for 2 years. I am licensed in property and casualty as well as life and health, but only make $13 an hour. I technically can make bonuses but I’m not supposed to dig into a sale and I have to send it to a sales rep (I am service and retention mostly). My boss also has me running a retired agents office until a new one is chosen (its an hour away with no pay increase or mileage pay). Also, no benefits! Should I start job searching?

Interested to see some perspectives - currently working at a Payroll & Benefits Specialist at a fast growing company and recently passed my PHR! I just started this role only a few months ago but am already feeling like I can take on more, but not as much as a HR manager. I’m struggling to understand where exactly it is I can go from here. I’m 25, have 3 years of experience, and get paid $59k/year.

Where does one go from here? Thanks in advance for any and all answers!

Maybe some perspective might be of use to me. I’m transitioning out of the service and I’ve positioned myself decently to be competitive in the market. I’ve got two offers from great companies. Biotech and Healthcare, both on the Human Capital Team as an Employee Relations Consultant. I have a graduate degree pursuing a Doctorate, LSSBB, ScrumMaster, SPHR, and PMI-ACP certified. I know this is personal and dependent, but what should I be considering as a commensurate salary?

Good morning!

Still trying to figure out this whole Fishbowl thing, so here goes my first post.

I would love to get into provider credentialing, but all employers I've looked at want at least 3 years of experience. So, I'm looking at Provider Network Coordinator roles, because I'm finding some of those roles don't need AS MUCH experience. I'm a RHIT, and have been working in healthcare for nearly 10 years.

Any input on employers is appreciated!

When we’re all comparing/complaining about hours at the end of the year are we including pro bono hours in that total? I’m nearing 2050 billables for the year but I have another 500 pro bono hours that should be added on. At the same time, I keep hearing about all these people straight billing 2,400+. Trying to determine if I should’ve tried to pick up more billable work to stay in the middle of the pack (i.e. not interested in partnership, just trying not to get canned).
