Looking to get back into shape and gain some strength. i’m looking for recommendations for a workout plan and calorie intake.

I plan on gaining mass/strength/muscle for the next 4 months. I’ll be in some sort of calorie surplus. then I plan on cutting for two months before a wedding.

I can do 5 to 6 days at the gym for about an hour a day.

What workout plans would you recommend and how many calories should I have during my surplus and deficit

I’ve been through two of the programs… anabolic and performance. The gains on anabolic were amazing. Performance was a game changer bc I had never been exposed to that kind of training before. They have free information on their YouTube (30 days of training, etc)

I think layne Norton also has a free workout (just google that one) which is basically a guide on his PHAT routine. That one was pretty good too.

I would do Boring But Big or Strong Lifts 5x5.

Add in a day or HIIT cardio if you want but honestly focus on adding muscle, eating a lot of protein. [roughly 1 gm/# BW - 250 grams in your case]

I’ll definitely take a look. What would you recommend on caloric intake?

Any women here with lean PCOS? I do not ovulate on my own (metformin regulated my periods but I still don’t ovulate) and am moving from three cycles of Clomid/IUI to IVF soon. No other issues have been found other than my PCOS (HSG shows tubes open). Curious about your experiences. And the reason I mentioned lean PCOS is because it seems for others with PCOS part of the fertility path is diet/exercise/weight loss but I am already very tiny.

Recently stopped taking Concerta (after taking it for almost 2 years at varying doses) because it started having some negative effects on my heart rate. I'm getting started on Straterra and a little nervous because I've heard so many bad stories about it. I was super tired the first day I took it and so started taking it in the evenings. Anyone have any good Straterra experiences?

One of my best friends growing up just passed away. We lost contact with each other a year or two after graduating high school and I recently came to learn he was was battling cancer the past 5 years and ultimately succumbed to the illness. He hid it well from everyone and led a very private life during it all. To make matters worse, he had just turned 25. Seeing pictures of the condition he was in towards the end of his fight broke my heart. I wish I had known so I could’ve been there for him.

ADHD medication with high Blood Pressure?

I found ADHD meds helpful when I worked in consulting in my 20s. I stopped the meds when I went back to school. Also have had High BP since late 20s. 15 years away, I am back in consulting and loving it, however my difficulties juggling so many projects/tasks is holding me back. I know I would benifit from some ADHD medication but my Dr won’t prescribe any with my history of BP (controlled with BP meds). Anyone else gone through this? Any tips?

I finished my final round(s) for a TAM position at

Anyone have a smart scale they like? I just got this Withings scale and it is all over the place with the body fat measurements. A good 8 points higher than the inbody at my gym. Whenever i have a big deadline, my body goes into a panic mode where my energy immediately goes to figuring out how I’ll get something done well and on time. Outwardly, I don’t seem stressed so no one notices but actually I usually feel like I have a cold: fatigue, headache, sore throat, sinus infection. When a task is done, i stop feeling like crap.
