If you want to move to the industry, that’s probably the best way to do it. You already know the manager and the scope of the work. If you like him/her, that’s great. You will not be gambling with the culture
Do you like the company culture? What does career and comp profession look like? Just ask yourself all these types of questions but think a little more into the 2-4 year horizon and what that could look like
Remember when you leap back to industry, youve got one shot to land that solid salary. They dont know how much you take in when you bill $250/hr+. However, larger firms tend to be reluctant to take you back unless youve got a large book, say 5MM+. Youve got a lot to leverage because of what you'd be giving up - More experience, exposure, learning, etc. Hope my 2cents helps.
