Hi Everyone, I am trying to apply for a Technical Support role at Dropbox I’m entering all the required fields but there seems to be an issue, when I hit submit after filling the form, it doesn’t submit and throws error ‘Looks like you left this blank! Please fill out this required field’ when all the fields are entered already (I have checked so many times, and filled the form from scratch several times too). Anyone from Dropbox who can put me in touch with HR or suggest what I should do next?

That's so annoying. It's happened to me a few times as well. I wonder if they're just stockpiling resumes for potential future rolls.
Well I won’t be picking up their call if that’s the case. F em
I think what happens in most of these cases is that the company has an internal policy of opening up opportunities to outside hires. But it's only on paper, if that makes sense. They have to post the job to follow their rules, but they're just not going to hire a person from outside.
That’s absolutely stupid and we all know it
I read somewhere they’re bound by law to post for the public but I don’t know if that’s true, neither do I remember what law they claimed was the reason
They should also be bound by law to interview external candidates if that’s the case
As a hiring manager, I have promoted or transferred internal candidates and also posted a job opening publicly. I don't like to do this, it seems dishonest to me and misleading to external applicants. However, I have been told by at least two different HR departments that there is a need to be fair, and they have implied that there are potential legal reasons behind this. Admittedly, I don't know what the legal details are, but that's what I've been told. So, in the most recent case, I agreed with HR to post the opening for only one day and then take it down. All that said, there are many reasons why posted openings may not be real. The reasons range from nefarious all the way down to just plain stupid. I won't list them out. I am out looking too ... currently unemployed. I went through the whole application process just the other day - customized resume, cover letter, inmail to the hiring manager - all of that, only to find out that the req for the opening had been cancelled weeks ago and they had simply "forgotten" to take it down. Argh! In that case, the hiring manager was at least kind enough to let me know. I bet in many other cases, I never found out.
An absolute waste of time
Some companies have to do that for their own internal practice. I don't really know why they do it but for some reason they do and I think its really frustrating and a waste of everyone's time. Sorry to hear that happened to you OP.
The system is totally broken, and I re-realize this every single job hunt
dont worry 99% are fake jobs
Thanks, how do we filter out what’s the 1% that’s real?
