Just wondering what opportunities are there for junior to mid career professionals in US international tax to work abroad in UK or Australia? Is there a need for US tax professionals there (i.e. Big 4s or in house) or would one need to learn the local tax laws and would that learning be relatively "easier" given existing background in US tax. I once was a CISA… I have no IT background, no IT degrees (2 ACCT degrees tho); never did/saw a shred of an IT audit/assurance work/client/OTJ training of any kind. Forced by employer to choose CISA vs CPA, CISA was way more feasible at the time. I passed 1st try. My firm had zero IT work. So all my CPE reqs lapsed, and my cert expired w/ zero resume material to show for it. I see IT Auditors paid WAY more. I’d love that! I’d re-sit. But idk my head from my ass about practical application.

I was a part of a management program for the past 4 years in a mid-size local company; worked in a variety of functions: operations, sales, data, marketing, and audit. Thinking about pivoting to consulting, how would you advise me to go about this pivot?

Made a career pivot to another agency. During the interview we talked about how it may start as initially a "step backwards" (pay/benefits) but has potential for more long term growth. First day was yesterday. Had no communication about when or where to show up, sat in an empty office for about half an hour before a couple people finally showed. No phone call or email. Sent an email to the founder, no response. I could easily get my old job back if wanted.

What would you do in this situation?
