The Career Rewards ish that replaced the Early Career Incentive Bonus for seniors. In order to mitigate the fact that current seniors are getting shafted they gave us $500 for FY18 before the full $1200/year rolls out in FY19.

Lol, SA1s getting it long, hard, dry, and deep by the switch from ECIB to ECR.

They sure are. Luckily as an S2 who sees myself here for another few years, my first $12k election will definitely soften the blow but still not ideal.

Could have been 36K under ECIB! Who thought switching to a program where the theoretical max is like 14-15K was a good idea!?

Probably some fat partner looking to buy another beach house.

like

To only slightly defend the company, the “could” in your post K3 is the exact reason it was changed. The data provided to the focus groups showed that an overwhelming majority of seniors elected $4k and often only stuck around for the first payment. For new hires, the new program is most likely a fair deal as it funnels an immediate $2,400 to them before even making senior with an additional $1,200 coming before the $4,000 would have normally paid out. The earlier access to the money would more than make up for $400 less in most associates’ minds.

The real shame is the horrendous implementation for current employees. Things like this absolutely need to be phased in with much more diligence. You can’t recruit people with ECIB and then pull the rug right as they reach the level in which they can make their election. That’s just poor business all around.

In my organization, most with my role are commission based. I make a set salary due to the firm I work for as an account manager/ coordinator for clients… I coordinate their enrollments, working with each groups HR department as to benefits and payroll purposes, and schedule our benefit counselors accordingly. I am finding that in most cases where I compare the voluntary benefits industry, I might be underpaid. What is an appropriate base salary for a position in which commission is replaced?

Hello, I’m an LMSW in Michigan. I have 15 years of experience in the field as a clinician, supervisor, and an administrator. I am feeling burnt out and unsure of my future. I have worked mainly in the Community Mental Health and the VA Health systems, hence my fatigue. I’ve flirted with private practice work in the past, but my spouse has been worried about not having affordable healthcare and benefits that each system provides. Is it worth the jump? Am I overthinking things?
