Bain & Company Bain & Company Do you have any insights into what they are expecting in the second (last) round? I saw that there are two cases and a presentation. Are they more interested in professionalism than the "analytical" skills assessed in the first round? Do you have any more insights into the presentation?
Many thanks in advance

I’m doing an internal transfer from
US to London in a month. I just kept an eye on our internal job board, had a call with some colleagues on the team, and boom
SM salary in London will be half of what you currently earn. Tbh would just take a sabbatical and travel
why not do an internal transfer with PWC? that's the easiest way to get a visa (just make sure it's the right visa)
SF1 - unnecessary bureaucracy, plus they don't want to do long term/permanent transfer, they want short term 6m-1yr. I want at least 2yrs or permanent 😑
Have you tried just applying directly to London and getting the offer before telling your team in the US?
Unfortunately the US office wont want to lose you permanently which is why they'd prefer a temporary secondment. If their pushback is making you try go to a competitor, I'm sure if they knew you have an offer elsewhere it would force their hand and they'd rather let you go to PwC London than EY.
Yes, I moved here recently, got sponsorship from EY
They will definitely sponsor. You will likely have more ability to move if you switch firms. EY sponsored me as a non-equity partner although I was already in London on a different work visa (I’m now at a new job).
For EY they have a tendency to drop all foreign transfers down a level—think this is because transfer is usually initiated do to the personal desires of the transferee rather than a true business need. Best to talk to multiple firms so you have the leverage you need to get the best offer.
Would use your networks—ask friends at current and other firms if they have contacts in their London offices. My team was always hiring and particularly if you are already a senior manager there should be interest, as that role is always hard to fill.
EY1 — good point, my team tended to get more transfers from other European countries, not many from the US.
keep your US salary if you can … can’t overemphasize this enough... London salaries & rent are 🤡 🔪
Might be possible. International moves seems very variable. I did a short term one as a senior and kept US salary and doing a long term as SM and also keeping US, but was looking at a different long term where I would have gone local
Common for KPMG and EY to sponsor!

Yes Big4s do that
Can you refer me at Deloitte U.K. ?

I just kept my US salary and worked remotely from London 4 times a year for a month or two. That was perfect for me.

Yes I know there is a tax liability and contractual risk issues. I did this at D for many years and was never caught. No one has time or cares about chasing you down for this stuff. It was a fun lifestyle and I’m glad I did it.
