We live in Golden Hill and love it. Close to downtown but a neighborhood vibe. Way less expensive than Solana Beach.
We love it. South Park has great restaurants and bars.
Solana beach. I’d avoid downton/gaslamp. Maybe north PB or even OB?
Bird rock just north of PB is nice
Solana. Better be making big money though
All good haha. I don’t think anywhere in north county has 400k SFH 😂
Solana Beach by far
I agree. Hands down I would say Solana Beach.
Depends on what kind of activities you want the most and what vibe you want. I loved living downtown - walked everywhere, easy to get to Coronado for beaches, activities and dining without the headache of parking and traffic. And of course still fast and easy to get to other parts of the city. Urban living isn’t for everyone. Solana is great (but I didn’t live there) - more need to drive more to get where/what you need, but have more of the beachy organic vibe. Both have their advantages and drawbacks.
Chula Vista
Neither. Ocean Beach/Point Loma, Hillcrest/North Park, Banker’s Hill/Little Italy will all be better (not sure about prices in Solana Beach, but none of these will be much more expensive than downtown or gas lamp).
Pro
Downtown is cool but I would not do Gaslamp or East Village. I’d try Little Italy or Bankers Hill. Solana Beach is beautiful but it’s further from Downtown, PB, Coronado, etc
I live downtown. I would recommend Little Italy/Columbia District or North Park areas for you
