EM1, I’m gonna assume you’re not aware that principals and partners are essentially the same thing at KPMG. You can’t be a partner if you don’t have a CPA at an accounting firm, hence the term “principal.” Principals are referred as partners here. But hey, what do I know?
Y'all know that a "principal" at BCG is the big 4 SM/Director equivalent, not PPMD, correct?
Ok. Go to that thread then and get your answer. Gosh
BCG 1 being a real dick 😂
Sorry guys what’s there to explain? His post is crystal clear 😂
You won't receive an answer. BCG is universally tight lipped about their pay
My fiancé is a newish Principal at BCG. He’s on 211k + 60% bonus + 20 days vacation I think
Not so- seen them share $ amounts in other threads here actually!
There are many levels of partner.
The prototypical partner that we like to think about with regards to comp has survived and been around 6-10 years (tough to do) and likely makes 700-1m depending on how many shares they have.
New partners bring in a lot less 400-600.
These of course depend on firm, what you’re selling, performance, etc.
I’m sure the answer OP is looking for is a lot more nuanced and dependent on what level he/she would enter at
Upper end is 500k... for principals according to other bowl
KPMG1 the fact that you put „partner/principal“ into one league tells us all quite a lot. Good that you work for KPMG then I suppose ;-)
Wait a minute, P3. You’re telling me that MBBs don’t know everything?!?!
Lateral move folks. Principal to BCG principal which is not the same thing as Partner at BCG. principal at BCG is the level right below partner.
@PWC2- if that were the case I wouldn’t ask. Other threads disclosed for other levels, not principal.
It is an amount greater than 0, but less than the GNP of the United States. We don’t talk comp outside our own house
EM1 - the other folks on here are correct. I know of ‘Principals’ (Consulting Partners W/ equity) pulling in $2M+ at Deloitte.
The base for principal at mbb and atk is in the low 200s with an all-in in the mid 300s
And don't forget the 10% profit share and almost zero out-of-pocket health insurance for BCG
Seriously 1?
BCG1 - that was not necessary - OP - definitely try it, if you are good you will get the job no matter what and coming from a boutique it will definitely also add a lot to your personal satisfaction and pride working for a top tier firm trust me.
So all the best for the process from my side
@OP, it's worth your while. Pay is definitely competitive if not better than what's estimated here. There also has to be something said about the culture and ways of working at BCG that is difficult to beat by any other firm. We've had lots of lateral hires that can attest to that. I'm sure you'll have a chance to speak to them if you get an offer - best if luck!
For what it's worth, my offer as an experienced principal at BCG was exactly the same as my current comp at ATK/OW (within 5k)
