Managed to get myself a couple thousand $ in credit card debt within 6 months of graduating and starting work.

Mostly from buying dumb shit on Amazon & drinking heavily.

Aside from the obvious (control spending & budget better, chill on the boozing), any advice for how to tackle this?

Confused about long term capital gains tax rate - are the brackets for how much capital gains you make in a year, or are the buckets determined by income?

Ie. If my income is over 40k do I pay 15%? Or do I only pay 15% if I realize >$40,000 in long term gains in a year?
