I don’t like flipping between teams folders/ file view and chats .. I keep losing my spot when someone messages me
Depending on the version, you can pop out chat windows now as one way to resolve this. Or you can sync a teams folder to your own desktop which allows you to navigate, manage files, etc. in Windows explorer.
No timer setting for away status
It blocks the inbox notifications when you’re presenting, the backgrounds are way cleaner than zoom on a PC, and I like the blurred background
Is PwC moving away from Google?
Slack > Teams > Google Hangouts
If you're on a Teams call, know that the screen sharing options are different than Zoom! In Zoom, sharing your main screen or an external monitor are always the first two options listed... Not so in Teams. Learned that the hard way when I accidentally shared my full screen on a client call and then pulled up a deck for another client 😳😖
If you want to get rid of the controls bar at the bottom of the call screen you have to click on a “safe” spot like the top of the Teams window - took a while to manage it
Teams is a memory hog.
For those who have used Google Slides, is collaboration easier with Teams?
Yes
I find no benefits in the chat or video vs Gsuite. However, the rest of teams is where it shines! Favorite uses (done within a team not just in the Teams program): posts instead of constant emails, use the Wiki feature for sharing team notes, todos, key client/project info, etc. Sync OneNote notebooks through teams. MS office files that open “live” and can be edited “live” in your desktop excel/ppt/word programs.
I hate that I can’t pause my screen when I share on teams (I only have one monitor).
Live Teams but you need dual monitor. It works perfectly with other Microsoft items such as OneNote.
