How's Edelman NY? Getting hit up for Health which I've never done. It'll entail moving from advertising to PR/earned creative as they call it, and the Health category. Didn't sound like hard sell pharma, quite a bit of branded video content. I searched on FB, sounded mostly negative culturally (employee fired during Pride month, political, creatives better watch their backs, climate denier) with a few who love it. Figured I'll ask if anything's changed, if it's even worth ... considering.
Clients spent 20 minutes during the middle of a meeting to shit on BCG for getting them laid off from their previous jobs. How's it feel to be the Bobs?
People who have had confidence knocks: how did you get it back? I was laid off, 6M out of work, had therapy, now freelancing but I’m slow af. It’s like my brain only works in 2nd gear now.
The more pedestrian your intellect, the better fit you are at D Heard of a colleague with an FRM charter being laid off today. Overall excellent person. And you won't believe who they promote year after year.. the character, curiosity and quality of the lifers Don't join this firm if you for a love of learning and to be inspired. Join if you are a middling who wants a good brand to hack ahead in life and rise above your station
People always say how hard it is to get fired if u work hard at a big 4 but people get put on pips left and right which lead to getting fired. So I guess not getting fired is just a myth
This country needs labor laws that actually protect workers is when time like this comes, average folks like us don't have to worry to sick about layoffs.
If layoffs were to happen in the industry, who does it usually affect first? Jr positions? CDs? Random positions?
Exploring the cyber security career field but I have a question: if this is your job and the company you work for gets hacked, do you get fired?
Are the layoffs finished? Or are they still going on? I am trying to figure out if I in the green for now.
Can partners get fired?
Another laid off case here. Anyone moving out of US considered keeping the 401K as is instead of withdrawing? Any pros / cons to keep in mind ? Pro I see is no penalty and the fact that it'll continue to grow till I turn 65. Con is that it's a decent size amount in my case and I might need some if that cash if I don't get a job soon 🙄
Just got hired at Accenture as a senior analyst. New to consulting and scared of bench time/getting fired. Any tips on how a new consultant with no skills/experience can avoid bench time?
Anyone else in FTO? I have yet to hear of any layoffs despite the fact that we are in FS. Can anyone elaborate?
How is the business going for all you consultants? Are your companies getting new projects? Any layoffs ?
Well fuck. I got laid off. Just when you think you’re in the clear, 2020 brings the pain. Guess it’s true that the big title comes with a big target.
When someone gets fired/laid off but they keep their previous title/agency on LinkedIn, does anyone ever tell them to change it?
Is the interview process to get into IBD harder or easier than top consulting firms like BCG/McKinsey/Bain? Where do the truly smart people work nowadays?
Applied to McKinsey via the referral portal. Been a week+ and haven’t heard back. Is it safe to realistically assume it will probably be a no?
I want to move to a remote fishing village in SE Asia and live out my days without excel or ppt
Deloitters - what’s your experience with tuition reimbursement when you got hired (at what service line were you)
Hi everyone! I just got a new entry level job at an agency that I’m really excited about. I was wondering if anyone has any advice on how to stand out, find mentors, and grow in a 100% wfh environment?
Working as an audit staff in big 4 shared service centre. It's been 2 years. I really don't like what I do there, also it seems I won't like what I'll be doing there even after becoming senior. Thinking of leaving and joining industry once ACCA qualified. (One more paper left). But people around me discourage that growth potential and earnings in industry are way less compared to public accounting. I know that too but I still want to leave. I'd like to stick to core accounting. Thoughts pls
Hi, I have got offer from PWC India, Mumbai location. What are the chances that I will be deployed to a domestic client location project? And also if it's a critical data project like of banking what are the chances that they will ask for work from office at client location even if it's WFH these days? YOE: 5.5 years Technology: ETL development
Could anyone please tell me about the recruitment process for BCGDV (BCG Digital Ventures) ? I passed the 1st round and have a 2nd round with a Lead but unsure if there is a case study. Asked my HR coordinator who said it will be 45mins on past experience and competencies but no need to prepare. Still not sure about case studies and if yes, what type? Thank you
What would you say is the average salary for someone in tech consulting in Chicago with just under 3 years consulting experience?
Looking to break into the broader healthcare industry from pharma consulting. Which non-pharma healthcare companies value pharma experience / don’t exclude it as part of healthcare experience? (Many companies want provider/payer experience). Targeting Senior Manager roles (5 YOE + MBA)
Chief Talent Officers. Creative Recruiters. Talent Acquisition Manager. Etc. Can anyone help me understand what these people do? Do they all have the same role?
It really bothers me that I'll never have the confidence men do, and I think this will impact my career. Things like self-promotion to the right people, being highly confident in my abilities (rather than focusing on risks and mitigations), and just naturally walking into every room like I belong. I know these are not only qualities of men and I can develop them too. I'm just frustrated & venting because it feels like I'm trying so hard just to achieve the same goals. Anyone relate? Any wisdom?
I get mistaken as a student at the school I work at. How can I establish my authority in the classroom as well as on campus?
Just had breakfast at TFG DFW and can't help but appreciate the meals at EY learning week from last week in Chicago.
Because of the snowball effect, should I put 100% of my investment money into an S&P 500 index fund? After I max out my 401k (not that my intern self has that🤣 lol)
Does anybody else wish that the Firm just gave a per diem for travel and meals as opposed to just an Amex allowance. I never even come close to the $100 a day allowance when traveling.
It annoys me when people make a scene to sit next to a significant other on a short flight. No time for this shit.
Is TAS/FDD just glorified audit? What exactly is it like working in this line of business? I’m considering applying to jobs to transition into it but I don’t want to be falsely sold into it the way I was with audit. Also, does it provide better exit ops than audit?
IT Audit/Risk Assurance Associate here. Is it realistic to find a job that allows me to work remotely full time after doing my time working for Big 4?
