Why not roll into EYs plan?
Barring that - pretty easy to roll to any brokerage. They are all familiar with the process and they all want your assets. They try to make it easy.
You can still take it with you and roll old employer plan assets into new employer plan.
It really doesn't matter where you put it. Consider consolidating all your retirement funds in one place. I'm assuming you're rolling over in the first place because the fees are higher or don't want to be locked into your investment options?
Move it to a Merrill Edge Roth IRA. The rollover process should be easy since it’s staying in house. You also should have enough to qualify for free trades ETF/Stock trades, although your best bet may just be a Vanguard Target Retirement mutual fund.
Yes absolutely, Merrill is just the broker. You will be able to buy any publicly traded ETFs, stocks, mutual funds. I hold VFIFX (Vanguard retirement target fund) along with many other Vanguard ETFs in my Merrill Edge brokerage account.
