His behavior is totally opposite .. he don’t like to participate in activities and shuts off. Keeps crying and don’t like teachers or other kids to touch him. He has been in same day care since 8 months old and was fine in daycare. Ever since he moved to class of age 2 + his behavior is totally different . Anybody else have since similar behavior with their kids or any suggestions on how we can make him comfortable in day care.
Same, mine took 4ish weeks then made some friends and now loves it.
Yes, had something similar at a year older. The bottom line was he missed his friends. He went from being the oldest kid to the youngest and was upset no one moved with him. They wanted to prep him for kindergarten by getting into the right grade year, but since he was born 7 days before the cutoff we made our minds up to start him late anyways. We told them, asked to have him put back in the old class, and everything was fine.
Totally normal. Same happened to my son when he moved to the 2-3s room. After about 3 weeks he loved going to see his new friends. Adjustment to new kids and teachers take a bit of time.
My 3 yo is in the same boat. She hasn’t said a word at preschool yet, but won’t stop talking at home. It’s normal. Our older daughter was the same way but adjusted within the first month of kindergarten.
Normal, it takes time. Mine took a month or so to lean in.
