My 3yo son has COVID - he’s been sick for the last ten days. So we think he’s in the last leg of COVID. But his last test was positive (done on Friday) and we won’t send him to school tomorrow. My wife is also going back to work tomorrow after a few days off for COVID last week. So trying to figure out what the best case scenario is for tomorrow and maybe for Tuesday. Has anyone had similar experience where both of you had to work and the kid was sick? Can you please share any tips?

I was just in the hospital over the holidays (not COVID). You know what I learned…I didn’t think about work that week, I thought about my kids.

My advice is to take the day off and tend to your kid. Hope he feels better.

Of course. FWIW, no one batted an eye for me. The response was basically, “We’ve got this. Focus where it matters and check in on Friday to let us know if you’ll be back next week or the week after.”

Good luck to you. 10d is a long case. I hope it resolves soon!

Please take time off and focus on family. The work can wait or be handled by someone else on the team.

How do you feel about splitting everything 50-50 with your partner? I don’t feel as rigid about it bc I feel it balances out one way or another, but my partner feels as if he owes me if we don’t split 50-50 and I pay more. I get where he’s coming from but 50-50 just feels transactional and not intimate.
For context: I make 3x more than he does and he’s still finishing his medical fellowship, so I don’t feel it’s a matter of feeling less than.

Hi All, I am 11 yoe, working at a medium sized product company and I got an offer from Thoughtworks (50% hike) for a Lead Consultant role in data engineer profile.

Being a mother, I have anxiety and nervousness about joining a service based company bcoz of doubts below.
1. Job security, considering the upcoming recession is it safe to join TW at this time?
2. How good is WLB at TW for a Lead Consultant? Approx working hours on a daily basis?
3. How flexible is TW for WFH?

How much more though??? Also should I push to have it matched now?
