Hey! Any Google folks know if it’s possible to negotiate fully remote if a contract role is hybrid? Personally, I don’t want to relocate and go to the office on a contract role given the current economy. Plus, I’m assuming contractors are the first to go in layoffs. I just think it’s a fair trade off if I’d be allowed to work fully remote. I’m also trying to have flexibility to manage my Airbnb business in a different country. Same time zone as the home office if I’d travel weeks at a time.

You’re an attorney, the answer should be obvious - companies don’t want to be sued for rejecting candidates and giving the wrong reason.
You can ask, but they’re also receiving dozens if not hundreds of resumes (most of which are wildly unqualified) and don’t have the time or interest in treating one rejection better than another.
This market is heavily skewed as an employer’s market and the volume of applicants is wild from a hiring perspective - you’re one of many and your desire for feedback/reasons isn’t the employer’s concern. You’re lucky if you get an interview, let alone feedback.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts, very helpful
Either you were the best fit and got the offer.
Or you weren’t.
That’s the feedback
True.
If you work with a recruiter you might get some feedback but not likely anything truly substantial.
Agreed I guess in that case, will just move on
The feedback I have gotten has not been helpful anyway. Usually it is some version of "you were a strong candidate" paired with a vague explanation like the firm's situation has changed.
Sounds like it’s normal of no feedback or feedback is not meaningful. So will just move on
