Hi all.
Has anyone in IBM been on bench for more than 4 months here?
I have been on bench for almost 4 months now & have been getting automated mails asking me to get assigned to a project by searching one by myself, else necessary action might be taken.
And are there any chances of being straightaway fired based on these automated mails?
I would genuinely need an advise from someone who is aware of this kind of situation.

Get a new fiance
Don’t listen to everyone in here. While the dummy did turn down a substantial raise, he is thinking bigger picture. If he got offered by his first client he probably will get offered again for a better type of firm. Tell him to not be scared to negotiate his pay at the consulting firm. 2% is hardly a merit increase. If he has an offer letter in hand by a firm then that’s leverage for him to get a raise at his current firm.
Why doesn’t he negotiate at his current job?

So the client is offering a lot of money but just from working with the client, he’s seen how awful the culture is. Working 80+ hours a week, manager is always over promising then rushing and pressuring team, working with a product that is subpar, requirements are all over the place. Truly an animal house. As a contractor, he can clock out at 40 hours and spend time with us. That’s why he didn’t go to the client…is this really something you’d choose WLB over?
At the end of the day, you need WLB. Extra money is nice, but if you drive yourself insane getting it, that's pointless. Your fiancé can definitely negotiate where he's at. If he's expected to work double the hours, he's technically making less per hour at the other place with extra stress and exhaustion. Unpopular opinion, but he's making pretty good money already, and if he likes his current job, that counts for a lot. He can definitely move up over time.
You're better off than I either way. If he's under 35 and has the energy, I would probably take the stressful role just to put money away for investments and emergencies.
