My firm announced their making everyone come back to the office 3 times a week. I’m low key pissed about it. I make my billable hours. We already don’t get any vacation or sick time. The least they could do is let us bill our hours wherever we want. Work from home has made a work-life balance in this field somewhat attainable and now they want to take it away.

You dont get vacation??

like

Vacations are never real, billable requirement or not. I’m in plaintiff’s side PI so I don’t bill but I have my own case load I’m responsible for. I can delegate simple things to a first year but that is very limited so the truth is if I take a week off the work just piles up for when I return. So before and after each vacation I always work long hours to catch up. I think a vacation is only a real vacation if someone else does your work for you while you’re gone.

How far is it true across the organisation?

Please help me shed some light to decide.

Are there any Teaching Permit for Statutory Leave (TPSL) substitute teachers? If so how did you get into it? I’m covering a position that should really be covered by someone who has one and will not be able to cover the whole assignment. As it is, I am in a weird loophole. The main teacher is in 3 days a week and her co-teacher 2 days a week. Both are out so I am covering techinically 2 different teachers and thus doing 30 days for each of them.
