My friend insists that once you're a monopoly you no longer need to provide Customer Support. Thoughts?

That's insanity. The biggest, best companies I know of still offer incredible customer support. That's what keeps them going & growing!

I think this is on the money tbh. If you have no competition, you have no reason to win over your customers. They're simply reliant on you. I think internet providers are a good example of this since there is often only one provider in a given neighborhood.

What? Ummm no way! Customers rely on you and someone else will then open a company just like yours and you will no longer be a monopoly.

So you're saying that companies will continue to provide good customer service when they're a monopoly so that they can get new competitors? Not sure I'm following this logic..

I mean, take a look at Amazon or Apple. They really do go out of their way to provide the best customer service.
