Hi, you can divert FD to better performing hybrid fund with a investment horizon of 1+ year, since you have a near time plan. DM me can help you. I do this as a side hustle. Looking at overall investment this is one thing which is missing.

like

I won't give you financial advice but you definitely need to find a way to divert that 1L FD. My recommendation will be for you to consult a fee only planner and work with them for atleast one year so you can define your goals, assess current savings and decide how to go forward.

like

This is the first time I'm hearing people doing sip on fd. It's not very tax efficient.

Please remind me over the weekend

Why not invest some money in debt funds they could generate better returns than FD

Ya since you are doing it for short term as you have to buy a home... It's fine to keep it in FD...

As you would be needing the funds in 1-2 year...
So investing more in equity could be Riskier

Everyone has a different perspective on this but would love to hear yours. Someone has debt ranging say 4-5% interest rates. Do you attack debt more then investing to move towards a debt free life or do you go after investments since they return historically above that then paying down closer towards retirement. I know the latter looks better on paper but what about the psychological factors of being debt free and the guaranteed return on interest savings.
