Wachtell for M&A (although I think they still bill at least for internal tracking purposes, just more lax in enforced).

Oh you’ll definitely bill an insane amount with up to and above 3K being within the ballpark but that’s the trade off for the super high standards and the way above market play.

Contingency work

Any firm that has fixed pricing. Not uncommon in my country or area of practice (IP).

I have a question about mid-size Philadelphia law firms. Does anyone have any insight about what life is like (culture, pay, billable hours, cases, WFH, perks, etc.) as a junior partner/senior associate/of counsel in the litigation department at the following firms: Montgomery McCracken, Schnader Harrison, Stradley Ronon, Dilworth Paxson, Klehr Harrison?

When should I start to get worried that corporate is so slow? Have only billed 230 hours for the year so far and it doesn’t seem like things are picking up soon so getting nervous since my firm has a billable hours minimum requirement.

Is $70,000/year, requiring 1600 billable hours, with a $4K bonus if I make the billable hours requirement, reasonable for family law?
The practice is 10-20 people; 5 attorneys if I join. In the suburb of Atlanta, GA.

I’m a first-time prospective lateral likely to get an offer shortly. I just received a lateral questionnaire that requests billable hours, rates, fees collected, etc. for the last three years. Forgive my ignorance but is this normal/standard? Do people actually answer these honestly? One of the reasons I’m leaving my firm is there isn’t enough work in my group so of course my hours are low.

Does anyone run a business in addition to their firm? I’m a solo and I’m doing pretty well with about 60-70 billable hours a month. Though that leaves a lot of downtime. Hi guys,

I need some advice, I’ve been in a newly created role within a pharma agency for about three months now and it is not going too well. There is little to no structure or direction from senior leadership, no access to client data, little to no billable work. Worst of all, no project is related to what I have been hired to do.

I would like to move on with a different agency asap, but I’m not sure how to proceed with such a short time here.

Our firm emailed all personnel to mention they've made the annual profit sharing contribution to our 401(k) accounts. The only problem is that if you've been there less than two years you're not eligible, but you still got the email and irrationally thought for a second that you just got a bunch of free money. ☹️

Small firm but I want to pívot into practicing L&E (I currently do construction defect and insurance defense). Sooo Do I accept the offer and hope it’s not as bad as the reviews and if so, stick it out until I get enough experience to jump ship?
