Yes your premiums increased again because you’ve added a dependent.
You can ask your employer if there are other company health plan options which are cheaper.
Or your spouse and child can buy cheaper insurance elsewhere.
Thanks for your response. I know why the costs increased and fully understand how benefits programs work. I know I can look at other insurance options outside of my employer during the next renewal period (unfortunately my employer only has 1 plan).
My question was more focused on the competitiveness of their benefits program. Competitive employers cover a portion of cost for benefits, whereas my employer seems to be passing it all at cost to me.
I’m not talking a few dollars here, my premiums are going to cost 15%+ of my base salary which I’ve never experienced before at any other company I’ve worked at.
