Blue line to Addison. Uber from the Olive Garden if it's around rush hour.

likefunnysmart

Yes! If you land during rush hour a cab will take forever - blue line is much faster

like

Call the Uber as soon as your plane gets to the gate

likeuplifting

Always Cab, Uber can take way too long. Cab line at terminal 2 never has a line so can consider walking to terminal 2 when 1/3 cab line gets outrageous

like

You poor souls still in taxis

Pro tip: Uber black is cheaper (by 10-20%) and nicer than taxi and is only a 5min wait. The pick up for Uber black is right next to the taxis (middle downstairs pick up lane).

Plus Uber points

like

Maybe it depends where you’re going, but taxi is close to $50 for me while Uber black is closer tom$100-$120

like

Call when you step into jet bridge unless you’re in C. For C, call when you step on escalator down into neons

like

Nah. At C, ping Uber from jet bridge. You’ll get to pickup within 3 minutes of each other usually

like

Take a taxi

like

Call an Uber as soon as you get off the plane

car service is cheaper then Uber on Thursday’s

like

Use a car service

like

Even Monday morning. I live in Lincoln Park and i take a car service (just an Uber driver i found i like), and have her take me. Still cheaper then UberX and nicer car.

like

Get an Uber black - it’ll come just as fast

like

Always blue line then Uber... Getting out of ORD via car is rarely faster

like

Do you friday work in the cab and get off early on friday

Blue line. Then call Uber from half way pt

Yeah the Uber points are for sure worth an extra few minute wait. I usually come in terminal 1, if I get a B gate I call one when we get to the gate, if I get a C gate I call it when I get off the plane.

Once you hit Uber Platinum you can cancel for free as long as you rebook in 15 min so you can sort of game the system to get what works

Every time I have ever canceled, I request a refund of the fee and they always give it to me 🤷🏻‍♀️

like

Where do you live?

Live somewhere you can take the blue line!

Cab. Do not deal w the mess that is shared rides at ORD

Uber has been taking 20 min to pickup from 2E. The app says 10 min and does not change for 10 kin. I went back to taxis

I do taxi because I have a narrow window to get home and see the kids before bed. Since Über the taxi lines have gone down considerably, and I’m old-school and lived in a pre-Über world

Planning a trip to Rome and Naples with day trips to Tivoli and Pompeii. Is 1 week enough? I feel like reading through 3/4 day Rome and 2 day Naples itineraries, the trip seems rushed. I have unlimited PTO but my SO is limited in time (but luckily he can work extra hrs and then use less PTO). I would say max we could do is 1.5 weeks but adding on 3-5 more days seems almost too much? Thoughts? For reference, I did Venice-Florence-Rome in a week and it seemed okay but it also wasn’t as planned out

Does anyone have any advise on how to become a staff video editor at a creative production company? They usually don't have any "job openings" listed on their site.

I have 5+ years of experience working at a creative ad agency, but much of the work was pitch/sizzle videos (yuck).

I'm freelancing now which has been a great step in the right direction but I'd eventually love to be on staff at a post house like The Den, Cut+Run, Company 3 etc. pumping out cool work. Just seems hard to break in.

I just left a very toxic work place.
The crazy thing is they were just named the best local municipality to work for. It's upsetting. They advertise a "culture" but don'tapply it. It felt like a used car sales pitch, I was sold a dream but given junk. I am constantly replaying moments. I have read so many books and everything leads to they were the problem. How do I recover from this?

So my fiancé and I are having a microwedding in Rocky Mountain National Park next year, and we’re working with an elopement planner.
She sent over a sample ceremony (intro, sweet poems + passages to be read, and example vows), and we read through it last night. I was reading it out loud while my fiancé made dinner, and it just hit me that this is really happening. I’m just really happy that I found someone who is willing to take a vow to spend his life with me and I’m so excited for that day :)
