I'm going from working at a non IT industry to an IT firm. As an introvert I've faced a lot of difficulty in my career... Now since I'm also shifting to another industry completely, I'm feeling very insecure about my life at work. Please give me tips on how to make friends and be in the good books of the managers.

Anyone here ever been scared by some major differences in materialism with your partner? I’ve been considered “boujee” by some friends but my girlfriend of just over a year is on a whole other level. Lately because of many of her friends getting engaged / married, rings have been mentioned and she’s said pretty much she wouldnt be happy with under 25k.

I come from a very middle class upbringing, and so does she, although she’s influenced by friends dating professional athletes and stuff

I have a para/assistant teacher that just wants to argue over everything. “You’re the teacher, why do I have to assess the children during break out rooms?” We have 8 kids, and I am only asking her to do 3! The other para is doing 3 and I and doing 2 with IEPs!!! How am I supposed to handle this in a professional manner virtually? Plus she is frustrated b/c o can’t explain everything. I keep telling her it’s all new to me too. Grace is not a word in her vocab. And I am feeling graceless.

Have a 2 year project for Romania which will be extended, what are the Pro's and Con's to move there?
Also need to decide if i need to take my wife and 5 year old kid there...

I’m mid 30s F. Recently started seeing this guy, where he is “good enough”. Good conversations, decent time together, he has a good heart, but nothing about him shines. - not fit (I work out everyday and play sports), meh social skills (he doesn’t have best friends, just few he hangs out with), bit less energy than me.

Have you ever had to deal with a loud upstairs neighbor? I’ve only seen her once and it’s been over a year but I hear her literally every day. My friend just got out of a relationship and hooked up with his ex's best friend a week later. They're now dating and seeing each other everyday.
I couldn't help but feel like this wasn't an appropriate thing to do for both parties. He also revealed that he cheated on his past exes.

I'm naturally feeling a bit weary of his character and questioning whether this is a friend I want to keep close in my life. Perhaps I'm being too judgmental?

During interview I was speaking to the hiring manager. Felt interview was going well. He seemed impressed by my answers, excited by my skills, and even gave me a tour of the office. At the end, he asked about my home life. When I spoke of my 3 young kiddos, the manager got a little taken back and replied Oh you have children? I said yes ages 3, 5, and 7. He then proceeded to ask me about daycare arrangements and if I can be reliable. Red flag as his demeanor changed and made me feel unworthy.

Coming from a family of immigrants and being one yourself, does anyone ever feel a sense of guilt with your success/salary versus your family members? If so, how have you dealt with this? Any suggestions on how to deal with it internally and emotionally?

I cringe when I'm at a friend's house and they answer their phone, find out it's a telemarketer, and just hang up on them. It's so rude. They know I have to cold-call people at my job and you'd think they would at least act like they were more respectful of the job.

Hi everyone I am relocating to Hyderabad next month. Even though I look forward to meeting new people I can’t seem to ignore the fact that I will move away from family. My family situation is already complicated, my mom and dad are not on good terms so we don’t live together and when I move it’ll get worse. I am financially independent but I feel guilty for not being there for them. Is there any possibility of getting transferred to Gurgaon office(a lot closer to my home)if I talk to my manager?
